CHAPTER    TWELVE

Verse 1: But at that time shall Michael rise up, the great prince, who standeth for the children of thy people: and the time shall come such as never was from the time that nations began even until that time. And at that time shall thy people be saved, every one that shall be found written in the book.

This chapter deals with the end of the world, not the Apocalypse. At "that time" or the end of the world, the great Michael shall be the great defender protecting the Church, the chosen children of God. It shall be time like no other ever before from the beginning of all nations. Any one whose name is recorded in the Book of Life shall be saved. Anyone whose name is not shall be condemned forever. This chapter in the Book of Daniel resembles much the Apocalypse revealed to Saint John.

Verse 2: And many of those that sleep in the dust of the earth, shall awake: some unto life everlasting and others unto reproach, to see it always.

Many of those who had died shall be resurrected. Some shall resurrect into the everlasting life in Heaven, others into the eternal Inferno.

Verse 3: But they that are learned shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as stars for all eternity.

But they who learn the Law of God, who receive Wisdom to know and to love God, shall shine like the brightest stars in heavens. And those who lead many souls to the Lord Jesus or " the Justice" during the period of tribulations shall be honored forever.

Verse 4: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time appointed: many shall pass over, and knowledge shall be manifold.

"But you, Daniel, should seal the prophetic book and stop writing on this subject because, from now until the End of the world, many generations shall pass, and much knowledge shall be revealed."

Verse 5: And I Daniel looked, and behold as it were two others stood: one on this side of the bank of the river, and another on that side, on the other bank of the river.

And the prophet saw two heavenly figures, each on each bank of the river Tigris.

Verse 6: And this said to the man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the water of water of the river: How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?

And the prophet asked the man whose clothes was shining and who was standing on the water surface how long it would be until the end of all these revelations.

Verse 7: And I heard the man that was clothed in linen, that stood upon the waters of the river: when he had lifted up his right hand, and his left hand to heaven, and had sworn by him that liveth forever, that it should be unto a time, and times, and half a time. And the scattering of the band of the holy people shall be accomplished, all these things shall be finished.

And the heavenly host had lifted up his left hand, pointed to Heaven, and sworn to the Eternal God, then said that everything would be finished after the last period of tribulations for three and a half years upon the small holy Christian community.

Verse 8: And I heard, and understood not. And I said: O my lord, what shall be after these things?

But the prophet still could not comprehend the vision and the angel's explanations or what he had written. He insisted wanting to know more about the future.

Verse 9: And he said: Go Daniel, because the words are shut up, and sealed until the appointed time.

Then the archangel Gabriel gave the prophet Daniel a negative answer. He told Daniel to go on with his life as no more would be revealed to him. The vision and prophecy, and the meanings of the revelations had been closed and be revealed to mankind at the appointed time. The Book of Daniel had remained closed as the great mystery until now.

Verse 10: Many shall be chosen, and made white, and shall be tried as fire: and the wicked shall deal wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, and the learned shall understand.

Many shall be chosen by God. Some shall be put through the tests of tribulations and temptations, some shall even be martyred or baptized with the Blood of the Lamb. And the wicked shall live very wickedly and none of the wicked shall be granted God's Grace to understand the Mysteries of God and the Eternal Truth shall be concealed from them. This verse indicates that the Lord the Holy Spirit shall be only with the chosen minority on earth after the reign of the antichrist or during the last millenium while the wicked majority of human race shall be left alone to be the children of the evil one. The world shall be separated into two camps. How evil will the world become at this time?

Verse 11: And the time when the continual sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination unto desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred ninety days.

At the end of the world, the incarnated satan shall be allowed to reign the world much like his predecessor and disciple, the antichrist, for about three and a half years or 1290 days during which the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass shall be abolished again. Satan himself shall be another abomination upon desolation who shall sit on the earthly Throne of God in His Sanctuary to be worshipped.

Verse 12: Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh unto a thousand three hundred thirty five days.

Blessed is the one who shall survive after 1335 days, that is, 45 days after satan's earthly life is destroyed by God. These small groups of faithful survivors shall witness the Glorious Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ descending from Heaven, accompanied by all the angels and the saints.

Verse 13: But go thou ways until the time appointed: and thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot unto the end of the days.

The prophet Daniel was urged to stop thinking about this matter, and to go on with his life ("stand on his lot until the end of his days").
